WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Shelley Cooper will present a practical masterclass on how to be present on stage using the work of Patsy Rodenburg’s The Second Circle. Present energy is focused, specific, clear, whole, attentive, generous, intimate, vulnerable, hopeful, and positive, which is vital for any artist. In the opinion of Shelley Cooper, a good actor is someone who listens and when you are present, you are able to hear others and take in what they are saying.

Through this masterclass, we will explore how to analyze your body, voice, breath, and how you listen, feel, and think through various exercises in order to be present. You will see, hear, smell, touch something new, which focuses this energy in the whole you so you are able to acknowledge the feelings of others around you.
