There are several ways to attain this functionality; however, we have narrowed the process down to one app known as Wi-Fi File Transfer. The free version of the app is cool, but it has size limitation that only allows the transfer of files under 5MB. One can also get the full-fledged version of the app which will allow you to transfer any size of file to the other device.

In case you want to transfer files between two Android devices, then you can also make use of the NFC feature, provided that both devices are equipped with that.

1. Install the Wi-Fi File Transfer app to your phone.

2. Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network so that the app will be able to set up the web interface link.

3. After making sure that your devices are connected to the same network, open the Wi-Fi Transfer app on your smartphone, and tap on the “Start” button. The app will set up the web interface link.

4. As seen in the image below, you will get a link with your IP address. Head to a browser (or a new tab in your current browser) on your laptop, and open the same link. This will then take you to the web interface of the Wi-Fi file transfer app.

5. The link will open the Wi-Fi File Transfer interface on your browser. You will now be able to browse your smartphone’s internal storage as well as the SD card. You can easily transfer all the files you want between the two devices and also download the files within.
