PIN login not work
PIN login not work
With Windows 10 No Login PIN issue:
I am using most current version of Preview Windows 10 Pro 10.10159
Goto Setting -> Account -> Sign-In Options, make sure connected to Internet
Push "I forgot Pin" -> sign-in as requested, when requested to create new PIN,
PRESS CANCEL - important.
Then open File Explorer Navigate to:
C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC
must be logged in as an Administrator - Delete everything within that folder
Go to Settings-> Accounts->Sign-in Options
Click Add a PIN again and set your PIN
PIN sign in should work going forward
Use Windows Key + L to lock terminal to test
Here is my experience. After upgrading to Windows 10, my PIN login no longer worked. So I tried to access the NGC folder and could not do so even with Administrator privileges but I used a free program to finally access the folder.
I deleted everything in the NGC folder and the s*?t really hit the fan.
A good number of features totally stopped working and other than reinstalling windows, the only other solution was to uninstall windows 10 and then reinstall it. That fixed everything and now my PIN Login is working. Good luck ppl..
Navigate to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options
Within PIN section, click on I forgot my PIN
Login to your Microsoft Account as requested, but cancel the process
where it asks to create a new PIN
Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC and delete everything within this folder
You may need to take ownership and give yourself permissions to access NGC folder
If NGC folder is empty, simply skip this step
Now return to the Sign-in options page and create a new PIN
