1 From the Settings Window

  • Click on the Notifications icon appearing on the taskbar and then click on the option

  • “All Settings.” Alternatively, you can also use the Windows 10 keyboard shortcut “Win + I”

  • to open the settings

  • Once the Settings window has been opened, click on the option “Update and Security.”

  • This is where you will be able to manage important settings like updates, security, recovery, activation, etc.

  • In this window select the “Recovery” option appearing on the left pane, and then click on

  • the “Restart Now” button appearing under the “Advanced Startup” section.

2 Using the Restart Button

  • Alternatively, you can also use the regular restart button to access the advanced options.

  • To do that, press “Win + X” to open the power user menu. Here, navigate to “Shutdown or sign out,” and click on the “Restart” option while holding down the shift key on your keyboard

  • If you don’t have access to your user account, then you can access the advanced options

  • directly from the login screen. Just click on the power icon on the lock screen, and then click on the Restart option while holding down the shift key on your keyboard.

3 By Inserting DVD or USB Drive

  • If for some reason your Windows system is not booting, then you can access the advanced options menu by inserting the Windows installation DVD or USB drive. After inserting the installation drive, boot into it and proceed to the installation screen. Here, click on the “Next”

  • button to continue.

  • In this window simply ignore the Install Now button, and click on the link “Repair your computer” appearing in the bottom-left corner.

  • Now, just like in the first method, select the option “Troubleshoot.”
