My start with Excel was at the HES Amsterdam, where I taught teacher and others working there Excel in small groups of max 5 people. After that I worked with Excel and occasionally taught some tricks in Excel to colleagues. In 2012 I started my own business with the knowledge that there was a lack in Excel education for people working with Excel.
Excel was one of my core activities in Databeet until the COVID-19 lockdown. I taught small groups and individuals Excel. The slides in this blog are from the basic PowerPoint I used for each Excel Beginners workshop, with the side note that I adapted the PowerPoint to the audience of the workshop. Sometimes I even adapted the assignments in the workshop to assignments in their own Excel files. I received these files in advance with their Excel question and always made sure that their questions were reflected in my presentation and assignments they had to solve during the workshop. This gave my audience the opportunity to learn the Excel skills they needed for their work. This is the beginners course that I taught. I had also an advance Excel course. Ocassionally I made Excel templates for clients and teached the ones going to use it how to work with it and basic Excel skills.
