The Databeet story began on August 13, 2012, international Left-Handers Day. As a left-hander, that date has special meaning for me. Before then, I had already chosen the name Databeet, I had my logo designed and even landed my first assignment through X (formerly Twitter)!
Databeet is a play on words, combining “Alphabet” with being good with data. The idea came to me during the final resting pose of a yoga class. After class, I ran home, wrote down the name, and registered it with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
I have never regretted choosing the name Databeet. At first, it perfectly described my work, and even though my activities have since grown beyond its original scope, I am still happy with it. Databeet will remain my company name.
After choosing my company name, I wanted a logo but did not know how to design one myself. I found a designer, shared my clear idea, and fortunately, she understood it. The result was a logo that tells the Databeet story.
Databeet’s original colors were green, gray, and white, a combination that worked well together. Later, I added orange as an occasional fourth color for designs that needed an extra accent.
Later, when I wanted to create online courses and interview a few people, I had an intro video made. A professional listened to my idea for the promotional video and brought it to life, combining my wishes with her expertise. I am very happy with the result.
