People often ask what my name means. Most searches return no results. If it is spelled differently, I can find a meaning—but that is not how I spell my name.
But lately I stumbled upon the following:
‘Your first name of Guiselaine has given you a quickly active mind, which has caused you to delve into many different ideas and theories. You have a desire for association with people and, since you have no difficulty in being spontaneous and expressive with others, you have considerable ability for discussion and debate, etc.'
The explanation did not include a source or author, so I can still honestly say that I do not know the meaning of my name.
My name is French in origin and likes to be pronounced the Dutch, Papiamentu, and French way—not the British way, thank you very much. My mother was never fond of English, so that settled that. And for anyone tempted to think of Ghislaine Maxwell: wrong spelling, wrong name. Gyselle and Giselle are not mine either.
