I was teaching two basic Excel courses offline until 2020, when the COVID-19 lockdowns came into effect. Due to restrictions on meetings during these COVID-19 lockdowns, I could no longer teach these courses offline. I started translating these courses into short e-courses on the Thinkific platform. One of these e-courses was 'Rekenen in Excel', Math in Excel. The e-courses on the Thinkific platform are no longer online, but my Big Data e-course on the Laudius platform still is.
The e-course 'Rekenen in Excel' was all about calculating in Excel. I taught the students the basic math rules needed to do math or calculate in Excel. The basics of calculation in Excel differ in the use of symbols from calculating on paper. In the blog 'The Calculation Symbols to Calculate in Excel' I show the difference that I also covered in the short e-course 'Rekenen in Excel'.
The last topic I taught the students in the short e-course 'Rekenen in Excel' was formulating basic formulas in Excel. In the blog 'I want to do more with formulas than addition in Excel' I show how formulas in Excel can be used to calculate or do math in Excel. Creating formulas in Excel was also covered in the short e-course 'Rekenen in Excel'.
