The sheets in this blog are from my master PowerPoint presentation, which formed my starting point for every Excel Advanced basic course I gave. How this workshop or course might differ can be seen on the two sheets labeled 'Programma'. In the quotation meeting I determine the topics for the course or workshop together with the client. The set topics are included in my presentation and in the assignments the client (and the clients audience) had to complete during the workshop or course. The maximum number of participants in my workshops or courses were 8 people.
All my courses and workshops had a maximum of 8 participants, with the exception of one Excel course I taught at Via Academie. There were more people, who wanted to follow the two Excel courses that I had developed for them than that there were dates to teach the Excel courses before I left for the Pacific in 2013. By making an exception, I was able to teach Excel to everyone on the Excel waiting list. The one course with more participants than usually was very tiring to teach, because all participants can ask questions during my presentation/ explanation and the assignments that they had to do during the course. To compensate for this, the client and I agreed to an additional amount for the extra participants above the usual 8 people. It went well, but I would rather have an extra course day for the same course than a larger audience course. I use the words course and workshop, because my courses are more like workshop. I require my course participants to do the assignments during the course. They know this in advance and at the start of the course if they are not used to the method they can start a discussion about this. But that is how I do it and at the end of the course or years later, most participants of my courses know why they were given explanation presentation and assignments in the course. By doing the assignments, they apply the learned topics themselves and can continue to apply the learned topics in their Excel use later.
