So it has been announced that the world’s most wanted man, Osama Bin Laden, has been killed by elite US forces in a village in Pakistan. He has been wanted by the western world for many years, more so after the terrorist attacks on the USA on 11 September 2001, when over 3,000 people were killed in Washington DC and New York. He personally masterminded the aeroplane attacks on the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon, paying for those terrorists to train to learn how to fly jumbo jets.
Although he is now dead, the threat of terrorism will not diminish with his demise. Al-Qaeda still exists, and will replace him, and the world will be on heightened watch because of reprisals by the terroists in revenge for his death.
But the USA, and indeed the rest of the world, can breathe a sigh of relief that the world’s most wanted and hated man is dead, and there are many celebrations taking part in Washington DC and New York City in the USA.
