9/11 - Ninth Anniversary

Today is the ninth anniversary of the day that terrorism played its part in the biggest mass murder of innocent civilians in New York, the Pentagon and a pretty country field in Pennsylvania.

Aerplanes with passengers on were used to 'bomb' the twin towers of the World Trade Center, the south side of the Pentagon and in a brave act of herosim and sacrifice, the passengers of the fourth jet sacrificed their live by bringing their aeroplane down so as no other monument in the USA could be targeted.

After the two aeroplanes crashed into both towers, the buildings, both over 1,000 feet high, collapsed, causing widespread death and destruction in their wake.

In all, nearly 3,000 people, of all nationalities, were killed in the terrorist attacks, and memorials are held annually on 11 September at 'Ground Zero' in New York, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those that died and their families and friends.
