Goal(s) - Parents will learn ways and methods which will be useful to get quality in their family life

Parents will be expected to:
be trained in ways which will make easier the Activities of Daily Life.
learn how important is playing with the child with CP and learn ways to make it real. Also how important is the participation of the siblings in these activities.
learn how they could have free time for themselves and their partner.
understand that the good cooperation with specialists could make their family life better.
Contents (General and/or Detailed)
1) Family Life
Activities of Daily Life
Playing with the child with CP and their siblings
a) Child’s play
b) Play value according to the age or stages of children’s social, intellectual and cognitive development and to his/her needs
c) Disability and play

e) Activity Play Workshop
2) Social Life
a) Support Network
b) Social activities for children with CP and their parents
c) Leisure time for parents
d) Recreation and leisure time for children with CP
3) Co-operation with the interdisciplinary team

Time needed
8 hours (one full day or two morning sessions) + 1 hour for evaluation = 9 hours
Methodology
Lecture, examples and discussion, workgroups, demonstration of good practices
Assessment and evaluation plan (trainer/trainee and module)
Evaluation through questionnaires, checklists and oral feedback at the end of the training course

Educational Environment
A meeting room/conference room during the lectures / presentations, as well as physical interiors appropriate for group work, case studies, workshops, etc. Also, a projector connected to a pc, a screen, a flip chart and internet access. Where needed there must be extra pcs with internet access, video and audiovisual equipment, board and/or special equipment/assistive devices
Qualities of Trainer(s)
The trainers should have experience in children with CP.
