The School of Education at Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Digital Inclusive Support Unit (NAID ) for Assistive Technologies and Department of Special Education, Porto - Portugal (ESE/IPP) is a higher education institution mainly devoted to training and certification of education professionals (teachers and education related technicians) but also with courses in Cultural Heritage, Social Education, Arts and Crafts, Special Education, Supervision technologies, etc. It is the biggest Polytechnic institute of Portugal.
The School develops activities in initial, continuous, in-service, specialized and post-graduate courses, research and projects and shares its work with local, regional, national and international entities with similar purposes. It has about 1400 pupils and 150 teachers and tutors, distributed by 14 Scientific Departments and other extension units, most of them in the field of special education.
It will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring of WP7, preparing pilot training package for parents and teachers containing training programme, methodology of pilot trainings, feedback form for trainers, evaluation forms parents and teachers, preparing draft study report . In addition to that, ESE/IPP will participate dissemination and exploitation activities in Portugal. Besides, it will take part producing report of state of art related to Portugal, needs analysis reports for parents and teachers of children with CP(03-18 age group) regarding Portugal, development of at least one training modules for parents and/or teachers, conducting pilot trainings for parents and/or teachers to test at least two developed training modules, testing web-based information tool with one of the target group of the project. It will also ensure management of the project in Portugal by providing effective communication and collaboration with related stakeholders in the project and among partners of the project.

He is interested in models of teaching children with behavior problems and other special educational needs. He participated in a European research, financed by Institute National de Recherche Pédagogique (France) concerning relation between teaching theories and practices in three European countries (France, Portugal and the Netherlands). He is also interested in the ICT use in special education and in teacher’s training
