Helene Elsass Center, Charlottenlund- Denmark (HEC) was established in 2007.The main objective of it is to initiate research and development on Cerebral Palsy (CP). The center is based on a partnership agreement with University of Copenhagen – especially the departments of neuroscience, sports and exercise science.

Helene Elsass Center was established in 2004.The main objective of it is to initiate research and development on Cerebral Palsy (CP). The center is based on a partnership agreement with University of Copenhagen – especially the departments of neuroscience, sports and exercise science.
It develops best practice and golden standards in relation to intervention strategies for CP based on most recent knowledge and evidence based methods. Research is primarily conducted on data from intern projects aiming at developing individual activity programs, providing insight, self-awareness and granting counselling and guidance to the individual and the family.
The main objective is to develop a training system that meets the demands of being highly adjustable to the individual needs of the child and can be adjusted according to the progress of training of the individual child. The system is named MiTii (Move it To improve it).Clinical individualized and supervised home based training system integrated with a web community.
It will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring of WP5, developing draft needs analysis tools in line with determined at the first steering committee meeting, make modifications of them if needed and preparing report on general needs of parents and teachers at partnership level. In addition to that, HEC will participate dissemination and exploitation activities in Denmark. Besides, it will take part producing report of state of art related to Denmark, needs analysis reports for parents and teachers of children with CP(03-18 age group) regarding Denmark, development of at least one training modules for parents and/or teachers, conducting pilot trainings for parents and/or teachers to test at least two developed training modules, testing web-based information tool with one of the target group of the project. It will also ensure management of the project in Denmark, by providing effective communication and collaboration with related stakeholders in the project and among partners of the project.
Peder Esben Bilde
He has a degree in literature from University of Copenhagen. He worked as director of The Danish Association for Cerebral Palsy that is an NGO for twelve years before starting up Helene Elsass Center in 2004. He has articles and lectures on cerebral palsy to professionals, parents and teachers both in Denmark and internationally. He is an author of the booklet: “CP – hold to the light”published by the Danish Society for Cerebral Palsy in 2003.
Mette Kliim-Due
She is a physiotherapist and researcher. He has a degree in physiotherapy from University College Metropol, Copenhagen. He has worked for more than ten years in expertise counseling to families with children with cerebral palsy for the Danish Regions. He has been working as a research therapist at Helene Elsass Center for the last two years. He participated in several PhD-courses on neuroscience and neuroplasticity at University of Copenhagen.
Betina Rasmussen
She is an occupational therapist and researcher. She has a degree in occupational therapy from University College Metropol, Copenhagen. She has worked for more than ten years in a pediatric ward at one of the big hospitals in Copenhagen - specialized in children with cerebral palsy. She has been working for the last two years working as a research therapist at Helene Elsass Center. Participated in several PhD-courses on neuroscience and neuroplasticity at University of Copenhagen.
Line Zacho-Petersen
She is an occupational therapist and researcher. She has a degree in occupational therapy from University College Metropol, Copenhagen. She has worked in a special school for children with cerebral palsy for four years.
She has been working as a research therapist at Helene Elsass Center for the last two years.
She participated in several PhD-courses on neuroscience and neuroplasticity at University of Copenhagen.
