Ver. 1.00

In this game, players take turns to guess the correct Question card from everyone’s numbers.

Whilst the Answerer looks away, the other players each write down a number corresponding to the correct Question card. Then they each add a dummy Question card that could also match their numbers. Now the Answerer has to identify, by interpreting the numbers, which one Question card is the original correct card, while avoiding the dummy Question cards.

Components

Preparation

Shuffle the deck of the Question cards and put it with the Extended side (red text) face-up.

Each player receives 1 Answer card, 1 pen, and 1 eraser. Any remaining items are put back in the box. Determine the first Answerer using a suitable method such as rock-paper-scissors.

Rules of the game

In this game, each player takes turns being the Answerer, going clockwise. The game ends once everyone has had one turn. Now the players total up their scores.

Whilst playing the game, between steps 2 and 7, all the players cannot talk at all.

1) Preparing a Question and Dummies

The Answerer closes their eyes. It can help to turn their back on the other players.

Going clockwise from the Answerer, the player to the left draws one Question card at random from the deck. The player places the card face-up with the "Standard" side showing. This card is the “correct Question card" for this turn.

Excluding the Answerer, each player answers the Question card by writing their number on their own Answer card. This is done in silence. Players must be sure they do not write anything other than a number. The players then place their Answer cards face-up in front of them, so that the numbers are visible, in a direction that is easy for the Answerer to see.

 Any conversation can provide clues.

Therefore, if anybody has any questions about the meaning of the Question card, they should either write them down to pass to someone else to write a reply, or they should answer based on their own subjective opinion.

If they absolutely cannot write something or feel there is a problem, they should speak out and switch to a different Question card.

Players should not look up any answers, or use something personal, like a phone or a wallet, to work out their answers. They must fill it out from memory alone.

Next, each player prepares a dummy Question card.

Each player draws two Question cards from the deck and looks at the "Standard" side. They each choose one card as a dummy for the "correct Question card" and place it on top of the "correct Question card". In choosing, the player wants to select a dummy Question card as best they can, that does seem reasonable for their written number.

Each remaining unchosen card is returned to the top of the deck with the "Extended" side face-up.

When playing with three players, also add two more dummy cards from the bottom of the deck as well. Similarly, if there are four players, add one more dummy card.

Thoroughly shuffle the "correct Question card" and dummy Question cards together, then place them in front of the Answerer.

At this time, make sure each card in the pile is facing the same direction, so there is no clue.

2) Indicate the Question card

The Answerer opens their eyes and searches for the "correct Question card" within the stack of Question cards placed in front of them.

They search for it using the numbers on the "Answer cards" placed in front of the other players as clues.

The Answerer guesses one card that they believe to be the "correct Question card." The others check it. This continues until the Answerer has indicated the "correct Question card."

- If the selected card is incorrect, the player that picked that dummy Question card scores 2 points.

If the dummy card was added from the deck, no one scores points.

- If the Answerer guesses the correct Question card, they score points as follows:

*When playing with 6 players, the Answerer does not receive points even if they Answer correctly, but if the Answerer is incorrect, the player who chose the dummy card still receives points.

Example: "Player A" guessed the correct Question card on his second try. They earn 3 points.

Example 2: "Player B" couldn't guess the correct Question card and is down to the last one. They get 0 points.

3) Preparation for the next Answerer

Return the correct Question card to the box. The dummy Question cards are used again next round. Place them back onto the Question card deck with the "Extended" side, and shuffle the deck up again.

Finally, going clockwise, the next player becomes the Answerer and repeats the process from step 1.

End of the game

The game ends when everyone has been the Answerer once. The player with the most points wins the game. In a tie, all tied players are the winners.

When playing for the second time

Players can play using only the "Extended" side of the cards. In the Extended mode, the numbers involve more digits and a wider range of values.

And players can also mix Standard and Extended sides; in this case, each player may choose from either type when selecting the correct Question card or a dummy card.

Decide in advance which side(s) to use.

Players can also have each player Answer twice.
