A prime culprit is American Apparel’s popular 100% cotton T-shirt (2001 and 2102). This is industry standard so most manufacturers don’t view this as a big issue. 2. Buy a blended shirt (ie poly/cotton, quick dry polyester, or even the very cool tri blend from American Apparel which is made from polyester/cotton/rayon. I have several of these shirts and they hold up beautifully. 3. If you have the shirts as per #1, buy a size up and deal with the shrinkage after the first wash (this is the most common strategy we see).
