You’re not doing the bride and groom any favors by only going in with a black dress shirt and jeans. I’m not exactly sure what a red ribbon is (a tie?) but if you’re wearing a black dress shirt with a red tie at my wedding, I wouldn’t consider it unacceptable. In fact I think it’s fine (as long as you mean a dress shirt and not a t-shirt) as long as the slacks and suit are in place. Also, what kind of black shoes are you referring to? Black sneakers won’t do. Any black leather dress shoe should do just fine and given the rest of your outfit, if you pair black dress shoes with a black dress shirt, red tie, grey suit jacket and grey slacks, you’ll look quite smart.
