JUDGE V.KRISHNASWAMY IYER AND PRABA SRIDEVAN

V.Krishnaswamy iyer was a famous lawyer in the early years of last century (1907) and for sometime a judge of madras high court. it was during that tenure he gave judgement against discrimination against daliths in the then madras presidency ( i think Cochin university). He was a congressman and belonged to the moderate section led by Gokhale. In 1907, he tried his best to bring about a rapprochement between the Extremist section led by Lokamanya Tilak ( Barathi and VOC were with Tilak) and the moderates. If I remember right, it was he who got Barathi's nationalist poems printed at his own cost and arranged for free distribution to the public , as he loved and respected the fierce patriotism and lovely tamil of Barathi in those poems....He was the founder of Mylapore Sanskrit college ( still functioning) and Ranade Library in Luz Church road . Also of, venkataramana Ayurvedic hospital and college ......

Justice Praba Sridevan is great grand -daughter of Krishnaswamy Iyer.
