Present Progressive

The "Present Progressive" is a compound verb structure made up of a conjugated form of estar (in present tense) and a present participle.

The purpose of the present progressive is to say what is happening at a specific moment in time.

We use the words "Ahora" (Now) and "Ya" (Already) frequently with the present progressive.

Hablar

Yo hablo=I speak, I do speak ... Yo estoy hablando = I am speaking/talking (right now)

Comer

Yo como = I eat, I do eat ... Yo estoy comiendo = I am eating (right now)

Escribir

Ella escribe = She writes, she does write... Ella está escribiendo = She is writing (right now)
