Unit 1: Greetings

To be successful in 2020-2021 in Spanish 1, make sure you are checking our pacing calendar and logging into Edgenuity every day M-F. The calendar is located on the main page of Spanish 2 of this website. We will work Thursday-Wednesday, Tuesday being the day that you finalize your week so your teacher can use Wednesday to look at what you have submitted and communicate with you, getting ready for the next week.

You can use this resource page if you feel like Edgenuity didn't do enough to prepare you for the quizzes, graded assignments, essays and tests.

If you take notes, pay attention to the lessons in Edgenuity, use these extra resources and still need help, communicate with your teacher via e-mail. jgarcia@shelbyed.org or jcreekmore@shelbyed.org .

If you still find yourself struggling, consider peer tutoring or hiring a tutor.

We will get through this together!

I will provide a printed copy of our Unit 1 checklist to all face-to-face students and any remote student who requests it via e-mail.

Subject pronouns / Personal Pronouns

If you didn't get notes yet, this chart will help!

Copy it down, even the vosotros section.

Tips:

  • Even though I is always capitalized in English, yo is not.

  • tú and él have accent marks. If you leave them off, they mean something else.

  • tú and usted both mean "you". Tú is informal and Usted is formal. More on that later.

  • We, Y'all and They have 2 forms: Nosotros, Vosotros and Ellos for mixed gender groups and Nosotras, Vosotras and Ellas for all girl groups.
