Project Process

Making the website:

The website was always going to be the centre of attention for this project. It was initially planned to be a complete platform for people to be able to create accounts and interact with the site itself.

This idea was changed after the first few months of planning as it was going to be too much to do for the time that we had. Thus it turned into more of a portal for our designers to be able to put their most recent and iconic designs. It also served as a way for the audience to get into contact with the designers to then get some work done from them.

The website started out as framework that set out what we wanted to show on the websites main pages.

Development:

We then moved into development of the website a long with some promotion for the brand as well as the individual designers.

The initial launch was through Squarespace but quickly realised that that was the best software to use in the production of the website, thus we promptly swapped to Wix to develop the final product.

Here are some of the posters that were used to promote the brand and the designers.

Working with Wix was smooth and easy. It didn't present any problems and had a really streamlined process to create the website.

Below are some pictures of the website after quite a few changes after the second launch.

In the end the website was a success and really represented the style of the brand as well as letting the designers show their own brand.

On top of the website each designer was to do work for 3 separate clients and to achieve that they would find clients either through normal means at the university or through contact from the MAKRR Instagram/ website. Each designer had their own posters as well to try and find clients.

The objective of MAKRR was to create a group of designers to be able to fill the need for designers at the university and outside as well. As such, the designers have each done work for 3 different clients. Below is a short display of some of the work that they've done throughout the project.
