This trimester, we have two studio projects.
The first one is about creating a print ad campaign for a food brand. For my case, it's Nando's Peri-Peri brand of sauce.
The second one is a social media campaign that uses an iconic character's personality and brand to advertise a service or event. The luck of the draw awarded me with The Mad Hatter for the former and a pottery workshop for the latter.
FINAL SUBMISSIONS
The snapshot provides an explanation for my project and the decisions I've made for it.
Featuring art and style inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa"
Featuring art and style inspired by Van Gogh's impressionist masterpiece, "Starry Night"

A plan that lays out the schedule of the campaign from month to month. Physical/outdoor advertisements draw the largest audience, so they roll out first, with digital ads to follow, and ads in grocery stores and interior locations to complete the plan.
Similar to the Creative Media Plan from the previous project, the social media plan lays out a 30-day schedule for the social media account to follow, in regards to content and posting schedule.
The social media plan comes in two forms: the sheets above, and the poster to the left, with colour coding to categorise the types of content.
This tri, we had the unique opportunity to collaborate with students from the Dubai branch of SAE on a storytelling project. We were given a prompt which we developed into a brief story that serves as the basis of an advertisement.
For my group, the story was:
"A man woke up in the centre median of a busy highway, unable to remember how he got there. He was holding an authentic eighteenth century Spanish sword in one hand and an empty bottle of fabric softener in the other.
A genie appeared, shaking his head. "when I granted you your wish to become a knight, I warned you to look out for pedestrians when riding your horse.
Now look what you've done.
Next time you go grocery shopping, use your car!"
Dazed, he picked up the chicken, apologised to the young woman, and rode away.
I took this story and interpreted it as a fabric softener advertisement, and pulled together this poster using photo manipulation and colour grading techniques.
PROCESS
Every project starts with scamping, a form of visual brainstorming to relay a designer's ideas on paper.
My scamping is then further developed into a mockup to see the layout of image, text, and colour of the whole composition. The mockup will be further refined and iterated until it becomes the final design.
A rough scamp that shows the intended puzzle-like layout of the campaign.
An early version of the layout, transported from a scamp to a digital form.
This image of the March hare was traced in Adobe Illustrator and then modified in Photoshop.

PREVIOUS WORK
A project I did for Studio 2, showcasing a series of epic, majestic creatures that pay tribute to the diversity and beauty of WA's flora and fauna through the use of online research, digital illustration, and motion graphics.
Two pages of sequential art I did that adapted the classic nursery rhyme, "London Bridge is Falling Down"
Personal logo design done by and for myself.
I did this logo for SAE Game group SendClickerHere's game, 'Guild', which came in several different versions with differing colours and typography.
To my left is a mockup featuring the logo on a CD and a case.
