We have created advertisements designed for Spotify, Soundcloud, iTunes, and YouTube, to encourage the office workers of Perth to take a break from their desks and look after their mental health. Some of our ads serve as a reminder and others are designed to give you links you can go to and help you relax, these links will show the works of our peers.
PROJECT PROCESS
We started our project by selecting our target audience of who we thought we wanted to take a break. We settled on targeting the busy office workers of Perth who forget to take break away from their desks and focus on metal health. After we had decided that Grace started working on the script while Karlie started working on the demos.
I wrote 5 generic scripts for mental health in general and 4 and 3 ads directing people to tracks created by people in our class who were designing tracks designed for mental health and relaxation. I then advertised looking for voice actors or people wanting to become voice actors. Gwen reached out to us wanting to be apart of the project so we sent through our scripts and organised a time for her to come in.
We set up the studio and session before she came in along with 4 different mics so we could see which one was best suited to her voice. We ended up deciding on the Beyerdynamic M160 (HYPERCARDIOID DOUBLE RIBBON) to best suit her voice. then we would have her run through each separate ad separately for practice and then we would take 2-3 takes each time.
Grace grabbed the best parts from each take when mixing them together.
The music Karlie created consists of nice cruisie jazz vibes, with a tempo of 100 to 110 keeping a calming mood and a saxophone to enhance those crusie vibes. The reason for the different DAW's is simply experimenting.
