This trimester I am developng my skills for 2D animation. I used Toon Boom for my animtion and set a goal for 15 seconds of content.
Heinrich waits in line at a stand for breakfast. He walks up to the counter and looks at the spread. After paying he decides on what it is he wants to eat. Karen however, has decided to skip the line and walk straight up to the front of the stand. She looks over the food and wants the same sandwich Heinrich does. Heinrich is shocked at her behavior but doesn't want a confrontation, so he looks for something else to eat instead. Karen breaches his personal space to pay for the food, but thinks his attempts and making space is an attempt at an attack. Karen throws her self to the ground in an act of being "injured". Heinrich watches her go down, then takes his food and leaves.
The Humans originally were going to be miscellaneous with as little detail as possible.
The end product of Karen was a dress change, the tassels were removed to save time.
Karen believes she is at a different standard to others and that she is entitled to do as she pleases. She goes about her day doing what she wants with little to no regard to others.
Heinrich is a shy guy who keeps to himself. He has a routine that he prefers to stick to, but can compromise where he needs to. He isn't a fan of confrontation and likes his space.
In the final product Heinrich does not have his long hair. This is to save time.
The pig and the cow were originally going to be the main characters in the animation. However, I was advised to work on beings that I need more work on. there wasn't room or time for the animals and they got scraped, but I would like to put them here as they helped develop the idea.
During the trimester I relearned and tested my skills as much as I could. I did small animations trying to implement different principles of animation.
I took a crack at the walk cycle, they look like more of a prance though.
Mort Blinking. I wanted to animate something a little unsettling.
Lip Sync. I had some audio of Markiplier talking and thouhgt it would be good practice.
I wanted to animate a ball bouncing off of two walls .
At the start of this trimester I wanted to animate animals, so after watching how pigs move I tried to animate the legs of one.
I wanted to animate the slow to a stop motion.
Fire
A racket hitting a balloon. It was a practice of weight.
After thinking about humans I had a go at animating a face.
I wanted to practice depth, so I chose an easy shape and made it spin.
This is a worm on a string with greyhound legs. The inspiration is from online.
I practiced the squash and stretch of a ball bouncing.
For CIU 212 I have put myself down for a 2D animator. This Trimester is just the development for next Trimester. However I was able to produce two small animated gifs for my group "Retro Pop Album" for Willow. I also produced a practice drawing of a character for the project "Swan Song" for Ella.
