Job Description
As a director I am in charge of following all state and national guidelines for our program. I write policies and procedures, document any changes and work with our principal in hiring and training of preschool staff. As a teacher I create and teach the curriculum, meet with parents, perform assessments on students and provide a safe, fun and engaging classroom for them to learn in.
Education and Training
A four year degree in early childhood development and supervisory experience.
Wages
Director is around 30-35,000 a year. Teacher position depends on if its full time & salaried or part time hourly. Usually around $15-20.00 and hour.
Career Projection
Yes. More families are looking for preschool programs as both parents are working. Also there is a lot of variation in what a program provides as far as hours and days they are open. So this creates a greater demand on the programs to provide a variety of services.
