Job Highlights

We exist to solve problems. We try to find products that the end user will enjoy while meeting all the financial metrics of all parties involved. The focus is on the end result, so as long as you deliver sales increases the job allows for independence. Most of the companies we represent are owned by influential entrepreneurial owners which allows for great networking and the ability to learn all aspects of business including sourcing, manufacturing, shipping, logistics, forecasting, sale, and financials. Success in this job can lead to success in running or owning your own company due to the vase experiences you will have.

Job Challenges

We act almost as a broker so the results are singularly your responsibility. Therefore, when a sale is not made it is normally the sales executive who shoulders the blame. We do not manufacture anything ourselves and are, therefore, limited in our sales portfolio by what the manufactures we represent make. This sometimes feels like a lack of control because you can only sell what you've been given.

Advice

I would recommend to anyone who enjoys working with people to get into a sales role because all companies need sales. Without sales companies do not exist. Therefore, if you're looking to be a leader and help a company thrive, sales is one way to experience that. I

n sales you work with the most important people - the customer. Once you excel at understanding what a customer wants and finding that solution you are very likely to be able to handle any job at any company.

My advice for anyone who is interested in sales is to be as well rounded as you can - learn as much as you can about every subject in school, play sports even if you're not any good,  and examine every product you see and ask the following questions:

1. Why does this product exist?

2. Who made this product?

3. Where was this product made?

4. How did this product get here?

5. What problem does this product solve?

Lastly, learn how to communicate and be nice to everyone,  especially people you don't normally talk to or enjoy being around. In sales you work with many different kinds of people and you have to get to know them, learn their problems, and help them find a solution. This isn't too different than being someone's friend. Therefore, go be friends with everyone - even the people that are very difficult to be friends with.
