Career Projection

Dental applicants are declining in some states, here in Minnesota it has stayed strong.  Jobs are available for individuals who are searching, it is competitive in some settings.  Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienists, Front Staff which require less education requirements are in high demand and these programs are seeking to find individuals for the last few years.  We need more individuals interested and are willing to help mentor any local students interested in any fields of dentistry.

Job Highlights

Love talking and having a relationship with my patients!  We typically get to see our patients 2 times a year and sometimes more if they need dental work.  It is like they are family.

Job Challenges

I am a business owner so we have to run the management side which is not a requirement of being a dentist as you can work in a group practice that higher staff, but for me it is running things behind the scene and keeping up with requirements.

Advice

Save your money, the less debt you graduate with the better, work now to save for you schooling and take the minimum loan amounts, don't accept the maximum they give you!
