Job Description
My career has many different responsibilities. I make sure that 40 websites are working well for the 200,000 students and employees that use them. I collect information about how the websites are used, analyze any problems that appear, and troubleshoot servers, databases, and programming code to find a fix.
Education and Training
Typical training usually is a 2- or 4-year degree in IT or computer science. However, there are many individuals who are self-taught and learn through first-hand experience. For example, I earned a 4-year degree in music, before moving into jobs with an increasing focus in IT.
Wages
$30k-$60k+ starting. $50-120k with experience. Wages can vary greatly depending on your IT focus and the employer.

IT jobs are growing and in high-demand. As a society, we continue to see our reliance on technology grow, and this will only increase the demand for IT professionals.
