Smarter Balanced Writing Rubrics

Scoring student writing using the Smarter Balanced writing rubrics is about to get significantly easier! The below buttons link to pre-formatted Google Sheets rubrics that can easily be imported into Google Classroom assignments. The “Criterion title,” “Criterion description,” “Points,” “Level title,” and “Descriptions” have all been included. After making yourself a copy, import as a Google Classroom assignment rubric using the directions to the left.

Finally! Custom Colors 🎨

Custom color options now include an eyedropper tool. The eyedropper color choosing tool is available anywhere you're usually able to alter colors in Google apps: fonts, shapes, outlines, Word Art...

A pixelated bulls-eye tool will open when you select the eyedropper tool. Drag the bulls-eye around the screen. Which ever color is in the eye's center 🎯 will be the new color choice once you click your mouse.  It's that simple!

Tip: Add images to your Google Slides or Docs to match colors with BEFORE you start selecting custom colors.

*Because the screen dims, using this method is not ideal for changing a Google Slide background.
