๐ŸŽž๏ธ Screencastify Edit ๐ŸŽž๏ธ

Screencastify's Editor allows you to cut, crop, zoom, blur, and add text to any mp4 file. Follow the steps in this document if Screencastify is not already an installed Chrome extension. To begin, click on the large โž• Add Media button in the bottom right of the editor. You'll be able to upload video files from your computer or Google Drive. This is also the button to select to add a video title.

When activated, the cut tool โœ‚๏ธ allows you to cut sections of the video by dragging the 6 dot menu inward.

To make a cut in the middle of the video, click on the timeline spot where you want to insert a new cut, and click cut โœ‚๏ธ. Drag the 6 dot menu inward to trim more.

To crop out unwanted areas of the video, click crop. An orange box will appear on your screen, drag the corner circles to make your crop. Click done. The crop will apply to your entire video. If you only want to crop a portion of the video, you'll have to cut new smaller sections and then apply the crop.

Zooming in and out in certain parts of your video first require you to select a timeline spot to insert a zoom feature and selecting ๐Ÿ” Zoom. A green box will appear on the screen for you to adjust the area to zoom in to. You'll be able to set the zoom in and out time using the menu box on the right-hand side. Click done. You can also edit the length of the zoom feature by dragging the outside lines & six dot menu of the green zoom box that will now appear in the video timeline.

A VIRTUAL Screencastify Submit workshop is planned for January. I'll only need 30 minutes to show you how to add, edit, and grade Screencastify Submit assignments through Google Classroom. Screencastify Submit is perfect for those students who are less confident in their speaking skills and don't want to speak up in front of the whole class.ย
