Worst Preso Ever is explained in Chapter 7 of the EduProtocol Field Guide Book 1.

Worst Preso Ever

Do the student created slides to the left make you cringe 😬? They're supposed to. The Worst Preso Ever is a Smart Start activity where students are encouraged to break as many presentation design rules as possible. Breaking the rules, while creating the ugliest presentation possible, will help students create better organized and visually pleasing presentations in the future. EduProtocol Smart Starts are meant to be beginning of the year/semester activities that get students familiarized with future EduProtocol tasks they will complete. Use the embedded presentation below (left) to have a whole class discussion of what's horribly wrong with each slide. Keep a written tally of student responses. Next, have students create a horribly designed 2-slide presentation introducing themselves to the class using the template below (right). Plot twist-when it's time to present, have students present each other to the class.

Archetype Four Square

The Archetype Four Square protocol is meant to have students make connections between the figures studied in science and social studies to the archetypal characters and situations found in fictional novels. Archetypal characters might include the hero, the mother figure, the scapegoat, or the villain. Classroom example: Pablo Picasso is the Shadow archetype of the art world because early in his career he rejected the styles and forms of the academic art world. Marcel Duchamp could be compared to the Trickster archetype because he upended the art world with his Fountain sculpture in 1917.

Archetype Four Square is explained in Chapter 13 of the EduProtocol Field Guide: Social Studies Edition.
