Ingredients
½ cup water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dry active yeast
2 cups all purpose flour (or more)
1 tsp salt
Instructions
In a Kitchen Aid mixer bowl (or other large mixing bowl), add water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Add yeast. Stir and allow to stand, covered for 10 minutes.
Add flour and salt. Knead by hand or if you have a Kitchen Aid, use the mixer’s dough hook attachment and knead for 2-3 minutes to activate the gluten which will make the dough stretchy. Add a little more flour if needed until dough comes together into a ball shape.
Transfer the dough to a clean bowl oiled with a teaspoon of olive oil or cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap
Place in a warm (75-85 degrees) spot for about 30 minutes for rising.
Punch dough down to deflate and diving into four pieces.
