Finally a recipe scaled for just one serving! These are great for a quick snack when you are craving a warm, chocolately treat.
I love that there are very few dishes to wash in this recipe. Experiment with different toppings the next time you make this delicious mug cake.
Yield: 1 mug cake
Ingredients
4 tablespoon all purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
2 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
4 tablespoon milk
¼ tsp vanilla extract
pinch salt
2 tablespoon butter, melted and cooled
Optional toppings: 1 tablespoon butter (soften in microwave 10 seconds) + ¼ cup powdered sugar +1 tsp to 1 tablespoon milk (for desired consistency)
1 tsp sprinkles
chocolate or carmel sauce
small scoop ice cream
Instructions
Combine flour, baking and cocoa powder, sugar, salt in a large microwave-proof mug. Set aside.
Melt butter in a small bowl. Add the milk and vanilla and stir.
Pour milk and butter mixture over the flour mixture.
Stir gently until everything is combined.
Microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute or until cake is set up and toothpick comes out without batter. Note that this is a moist cake which may stick to the toothpick.
Allow to cool for up to 5 minutes before topping.
