The magic ingredient for success in any team is focus. In a room of 30-35 learners who are working in close spaces to craft cookies, burritos, pizza, or salads, there can sometimes be frustrations along with triumphs. To create a foundation of kindness, class participants created signs reminding each other of what kindness looks like, sounds like, and some even aspired to find a meaningful quote online.
There's always time to be kind, and I'm encouraging my learners to consider what kindness looks like and sounds like. Our class is just as much about foods and nutrition as it is about teamwork and working with others. Focusing on kindness is a skill that can be transferred to other classes, jobs, relationships, and family life.
Learners were asked to create a poster about kindness. This short video is a sampling of what they came up with.
