Hello!
How can I support you in your path towards wellness? My goal is guide my students on their journey in exploring foods, nutrition, and cooking and gear them up with tools. I started teaching Family and Consumer Science at Anthony Middle School in Minneapolis in 2001. My favorite lab was making cinnamon rolls because someone showed us how to cut the dough with plain dental floss. Fun! Since then I have had the honor of teaching at Armstrong High School, Robbinsdale Virtual Academy, been a Modern Classroom Master Implementor and Mentor, Yoga Teacher, language teacher to students in China, tutored students from Ukraine, and worked with students in Special Education. I also design self-paced mastery based learning asynchronous online courses.
I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with my parents and two brothers and sister. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with my Bachelor degree in Family Social Science, Master of Education in Human Resource Development and worked as a trainer, and Master of Education in Secondary Education and earned my teaching license. One of my favorite student jobs was working in a food research lab at the Masonic Cancer Research Center at the University of Minnesota - so fascinating!
I love fueling up my three favorite student athletes (my kids Miles, Parker, and Ruby) and husband (hockey ref, cyclist, and backpacker) with healthy snacks, meals, positive mindset, and encouraging nourishing movement. My kiddos play soccer, hockey, volleyball, and competitively fence (including the 2024 Junior Olympics!). I want to hear what you are curious about and want to know what you love! What are your goals?
Yours in wellness,
Mrs. Dripps
