Weekly Update

September 16, 2019

Dear King Families,

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! Last week was a successful start to the new year. Students spent the first couple of days getting settled and learning their new schedules and teachers.

Thanks to all who attended Open House on Thursday evening. It was great to see returning families and to welcome our new families to the KMS community. Please be sure to submit your students' paperwork to the Main Office and to do the Infinite Campus updates as soon as possible.

This week our 8th grade teams are traveling to Camp Hinds in Raymond to spend a full day with Rippleffect. Kineo will be kicking off their fall expedition, and Moosehead students will be doing some plant identification work in Deering Oaks. So we are already in full swing!

King Middle School: School-Wide Expectations

Throughout the next few weeks students will be learning our school expectations. We are including these below so that you can discuss them with your student and reinforce them.

    • Respect: being thoughtful of the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others
    • Responsibility: acting independently and being accountable for your actions as a member of the King community
    • Perseverance: trying your best even when things are difficult
