Dear King Families,

It is hard to believe that this is the last Monday communication for the year. Thank you for all of your support this year. It has been challenging on many levels and we are grateful for your partnership. To all of our 8th grade families, we will miss your students, but we are excited for their next adventure.

There is a lot happening at King in the next week. There are multiple culminating events for expeditions, teams are organizing end of the year activities, and our 8th grade farewell is next Monday. Families will receive details and logistical information from the 8th grade teams. We are looking forward to welcoming our 8th grade families for the final celebration. The 8th grade students will be dismissed following the celebration ceremony and do not need to attend school on Tuesday, June 14.

Last week I was fortunate to be able to spend the day with the Moosehead team on Cow Island with Rippleffect. It was an awesome day focused on community and our kids were fabulous!

We are proud of all that our students and staff have accomplished during this school year full of adjustments and change. We are looking forward to next year with the hope that we can move forward and continue to grow and learn together. Thank you so much for all of your support.

Have a wonderful summer, take care, and don't hesitate to reach out to kingsecretary@portlandschools.org with any questions or concerns.
