Dear Families,

As we head into our fourth week of school since the break we continue to see a decrease in the number of positive cases within our school community. Hopeful the numbers will decline as we enter into February.

On Friday, the Supt. shared the new PPS COVID protocols in the staff and community newsletter. Please read the updated news on suspending contact tracing. A key part of the communication is that there will no longer be notices sent for each positive case, but the COVID-19 Report Card will be updated regularly and families can access the information daily.

We are about halfway through the second trimester. Tomorrow students will bring home progress reports. These are a snapshot of academic and HOWLs scores at this point in the trimester. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your child's Crew teacher.

Finally, we are really in need of warm winter clothing including boots, jackets, hats and mittens. Any donations of gently used or new winter items would be greatly appreciated. We also welcome any donations of canned and /or non-perishable items for our food pantry.

Thank you for your continued support and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions to kingsecretary@portlandschools.org.

Kineo Expedition Culmination

Kineo 7 students had an awesome culminating event last Friday. Students presented their final products to their peers from the Moosehead team. They shared information about the hero that they researched.
