September 25th, 2o23 - Jamboard Changes

Today's Resource Share comes from Google's Workspace Update Blog. Sadly, yesterday it was announced that Jamboard, both the application and the physical board, will sunset in 2024. That means that users will not allow creation of new Jamboard after October 1st, 2024 and on December 31st, 2024 all Jamboards will be removed from your Drive. This is a sad development, but they are recommending using Google Slides or FigJam by Figma. You can check out the announcement at the link below:

September 23rd, 2023 - The Art Handler

Today's Resource Share comes from Google Art & Culture. They just released several new activities that we will share over the next few weeks. First up is The Art Handler. This is a fun balance game where players have to balance artwork to deliver it to the museum. It is challenging as a game and teaches students about a different piece of art. The art changes daily, so make sure that you play the game and check out the artwork available for that day before handing it off to students. Check it out at the link below:

September 22nd, 2023 - Live Pointers in Google Slides

Today's Resource Share is an update from Google Workspaces. In the coming weeks, if not already, on Google Slides when collaborating, you will be able to see your collaborators moving around the space through a live pointer system. This update will help collaborators to see quickly where one person is working and clicking throughout a project. The update is for all Google domains including personal accounts. It is rolling out starting September 18th and will continue until early November. Here is the update blog from Google:

September 13th, 2023 - EDU in 90: App Hub & Chromebooks

Today's Resource Share comes from Google for Edu's YouTube channel. In this edition of Edu in 90 they cover two very interesting points for all educators with Chromebooks in their classrooms. First, is Chromebook integration with Adobe Express; this integration allows students to quickly use Express on their Chromebook and turn in work via Google Classroom. Second, Google is working on adding more accessibility to PDFs through AI. Their program, part of their Reading Mode, will help make PDFs including those with images more accessible to students with disabilities. Learn more in the video below:

Check out the video below for a great walkthrough of this feature and how to use it in Docs (again, it also works in Google Sheets in individual cells):
