March 30th, 2022 - Be Internet Awesome Coloring Book

Today's Resource Share is mostly for our elementary students but could be a fun project for any level of learner. Be Internet Awesome is an amazing gamified curriculum for Digital Citizenship. It helps students learn about a variety of topics within Digital Citizenship and help students to identify potential issues on the internet before they happen to them. The curriculum is fun, engaging, and gamified for students. Check out the link below:

https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/

As an extension to the curriculum, Google just created a Be Internet Awesome coloring book for students. You can find that at the link below:

March 29th, 2022 - Google's EDU in 90 for March 2022

Today's Resource Share comes from Google for Edu's Youtube channel. Each month they produce a 2-3 minute video that introduces some of the vital additions or changes to Google for Education. March 28th, 2022 - Make a Word Game (Wordle) on Applied Digital Skills

I totally have missed this craze, but I hear Wordle is pretty awesome. So awesome that Google's Applied Digital Skills program put together a lesson on how to make a Wordle with your students. The lesson, which is based in Google Sheets, takes about 45-90 minutes to complete and could be used for many different lesson plans across curriculums. Check it out at the link below:

March 18th, 2022 - Colby Hawkin's UCET Presentation on Canva

Today I thought it would be great to share a wonderful presentation from one of our GEGUtah members at UCET. Colby Hawkins is a Digital Learning Specialist from Jordan School District and he did an amazing presentation on using Canva in the K-12 classroom. Follow him on Twitter - @colb_hawk. There are so many amazing ideas in this presentation and even though it is not directly a Google product, it was too good of a presentation not to share with GEGUtah. Check out the presentation at the link below:

Google Tools to Support all Learners

March 17, 2022 - Control Alt Achieve's Tools for Supporting Struggling Learners

For today's Resource Share, I thought it would be great to share a wonderful set of Google resources from Eric Curt's blog, Control Alt Achieve. These resources are meant to be used with and for struggling learners. Whether your students need reading support or help with behavior, Eric has tools for a lot of classroom needs. Check out the resource below and make sure to make a copy for yourself:

March 10th, 2022 - Talk to Books

In honor of UELMA meeting today, I thought it would be fun to share a resource that allows books to talk back to you... kind of. Talk to Books is a Google Experiment that allows users to ask questions to an AI bot that searches books across genres for answers to those questions. It is a very quick, very fun way to start building research. Check it out below:

March 9th, 2022 - Google Arts and Culture 360 Degree Videos

Today's Resource Share is from Google's Arts and Culture site. Arts and Culture is a great resource for finding materials from some of the best museums around the world. It has also become a repository for some of Google's experimental projects like 360 videos. On the page below, check out dozens of great 360 videos available through Arts and Culture and Youtube that explore Science, English, Math, Music, and Art in interesting and engaging ways. You might be even find some Utah's focused videos in the collection as well! Just a word of warning, Arts and Culture is a museum, so make sure you check your content before you share it with students:

March 8th, 2022 - Tic-Tac-Tow Hyperdoc from Granite School District

I am getting to our daily resource share kind of late in the day, but I came across this great post by Granite School District with an amazing template for a Tic-Tac-Toe HyperDoc. If you are unfamiliar with HyperDocs, they provide learners with choice and voice throughout a learning process by providing options in what they learn about a subject and how they show that learning. This is a great example by one of our great local districts. Check it out:

March 7th, 2022 - Ocean Of Books

For today's resource share I thought that I would share one of my favorite resources for myself: Ocean of Books. This is a map of imaginary islands that are labeled with books and authors from around the world. Each island gives you information about the author and the book. It is a wonderfully relaxing way to explore literature. Enjoy:

March 4th, 2022 - Discover AI in Daily Life

I spent some time this morning exploring some of the new offering in Google's Applied Digital Skills program and there are some great lessons and collections for all levels of learners. However, the Discover AI in Daily Life lesson leaped out at me because although being short, 45-90 minutes, it covers a lot of tools (Autodraw, Slides, Translate, etc) and teaches students how to recognize Artificial Intelligence in their lives. Check it out at the link below:

https://applieddigitalskills.withgoogle.com/c/middle-and-high-school/en/discover-ai-in-daily-life/overview.html

Also check out all the recent additions:

March 2nd, 2022 - Google Sheets Etch-A-Sketch

Today's resource share is on the surface goofy fun, but when you examine the sheet it is a really cool example of the power of Google Sheets. Ben Collins, a Google Data Specialist, makes amazing sheets for a variety of situations. In this Sheet, he made a functioning Etch-A-Sketch in Google Sheets! After you make a copy of the sheet, the instructions are hidden in + next to row 41 and if you want to see the formulas as you draw, click the + above column P. Grab a copy at the link below:

March 1st, 2022 - Google for EDU eMedia Hub Update

For today's resource share, I wanted to share that Utah Education Network's eMedia just did an update to their Google for Edu Hub. The hub has hundreds of resources from a variety of Google professional development sites including Google's various Youtube Channels, Applied Digital Skills, Google Earth, and more. They also included all the GEGUtah video resources over the last few months! The resources are broken up by Google Tool and by content area. eMedia is doing another update in late March/early April, so if you have lesson plans, ideas, or resources that you would like to share with the community, please feel free to reach out to Matt at mwin...@uen.org and he will help you to get them included. Enjoy exploring the update:
