March 29th, 2023 - Data Validation in Google Forms

Today's Resource Share comes from Google Workspace's YouTube Channel. In this short video learn about how to use Response or Data Validation in Short Answer or Paragraph questions on Google Forms. This little feature gives educators ways to check for specific types of answers (URLs, emails, words, or numbers) and check for length minimums and maximums. If you have never used this in your classroom to make a digital escape room, a self-checking quiz, or as a way to assure student learning, this is a great time to try it out. Today's Resource Share comes from Eric Curts' Control Alt Achieve. Google recently unveiled some upcoming updates at BETT, a conference in London. These updates are coming in the near future depending on the version of Google your school or district has purchased. Updates include adding questions to Youtube videos in Classrooms, custom Building Blocks in Docs, Timer and Stopwatch chips in Docs, Voting Chips in Docs, and more. March 27th, 2023 - Wakelet x Google for Education SDG Challenge

Today's Resource Share is a collaborative project between Wakelet and Google for Education. They have teamed up for the project with the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, and helping educators apply them to our classrooms and build lesson plans around them. This Wakelet collection, which is copyable to your own library, offers some great resources for introducing the SDGs to your students, some starter questions, as well as some great videos on how to use Wakelet if you are new to the program. Today's Resource Share is a great little video from Google Workspaces. This may be a review for many of you, but adding videos to Google Slides is a great way to avoid advertisements, spotlight a specific point in the video, or to add in timers. March 23rd, 2023 - Refreshed Interface to Google Products

Today's Resource Share comes from the Google Workspace Updates Blog (a great site to bookmark). If you have been on Google Drive recently you may have noticed that it has received a very different cosmetic update. Along with Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides are also receiving a new look. This rollout as explained in the post below is part of Google Material Design 3, a project to keep the interface fresh and updated. If your Drive is still the same as it was in February, your district/school may not have allowed the update as of yet, but it might come soon. March 22nd, 2023 - Utah Rural Schools Association Proposal Form

Today's Daily Resource Share comes from the Utah Rural Schools Association. If you have not attended their annual conference in July, it is such a fantastic conference with educators from across the entire state. This year the conference will be held in Price from July 12th-14th. They are currently looking for proposals for a variety of presentations at the conference. If you are unaware about this program, the Utah Teacher Fellows are a teacher leadership program that help classroom educators develop their leadership skills over the course of a two year fellowship. They are currently taking applications for their fourth fellowship group that will start over the summer. March 6th, 2023 - Utah Teacher Fellows Interest From

If you are not aware of the Utah Teacher Fellows, the program supports Utah educators who would like to explore how to interact and work with local and state policymakers to help improve teaching and learning conditions in Utah's Public Schools. They are currently working towards an application process for their upcoming two-year cohort and they put out an interest form to help find potential fellows. March 3rd, 2023 - Secret UCET session with ERic Curts Signup

Today's Resource Share is a special session at UCET23 for our GEGUtah members. Eric Curts from Control Alt Achieve has agreed to do a lunchtime session from 11:30-12:30 on March 14th in the Google Room for GEGUtah members only. March 2nd, 2023 - UCET ISTELive 2023 Presenter Scholarship

Today's resource share comes in the form of a new program from UCET. This year UCET is offering a scholarship to help cover the registration costs to present at ISTELive 2023. UCET is the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) affiliate and they know that there are some amazing Utah educators who are presenting at ISTELive 2023 in Philadelphia. UCET is also aware of the conference fees associated with presenting. If you have been accepted to present at ISTELive 2023 and need help with your conference costs, please apply for the scholarship with the Form below. Again, you may only receive funding if you are already presenting at ISTELive 2023. UCET will fund only your registration fees and there are only four scholarships. March 1st, 2023 - Conker By Mote: AI Created Google Form Quizzes 

Today's Resource Share is a new free tool from Mote called Conker. If you are unfamiliar with Mote, it is a Google Add-On that allows users to leave audio messages on Slides, Forms, and more. They recently released, in beta, a new program called Conker. Conker uses AI to create quizzes from a topic or from text (up to 12,000 words).  The quizzes are then customizable to the number of questions and in future updates question types (right now it is multiple choice only). Once you are satisfied with your quiz, you can export it to a Google Form and share it with your students, add visuals, and more question types. Check it out at the link below:
