September 27th, 2022 - Google Digital Citizenship and Safety Course

Today's Resource Share is a free course from Google on Digital Citizenship and Safety to prepare educators to teach these subjects to students. The course is designed to take just over two hours to complete and covers topics ranging from phishing scams to digital research. September 26th, 2022 - UCET23 Call for Proposals

Today's Resource Share comes from UCET! UCET recently opened up its call for proposals for its 2023 conference in Provo, Utah. UCET 2023 will be held on March 14-15, 2023. UCET23 will have options for both in-person attendees and virtual attendees. Below are the sessions types we are accepting this year, both for in-person and virtual presentations:

    • Playground (Hands-on Demonstration)

    • Utedchat (10-15 minute TED-style Talk)

    • Lecture (Traditional 60-minute Presentation)

Today's Resource Share is a great project from Google Arts & Culture. If you are like me, painting a masterpiece, let alone mimicking a master like Monet, is outside my wheelhouse. Today's Resource Share comes from Utah Education Network. They have a new program for in-building technology/instruction coaches from across the state called the Tech Leaders Network. This free program meets together five times, a few digitally and a few face-to-face, to explore leadership, effective coaching, curriculum, and choice management. September 19th, 2022 - Google Edu Tools for Diverse Learners Course

Today's Resource Share is a course from the Google Workspaces for Edu team. In conjunction with the Google Certified Educator training program, Google has added a few other courses to help educators who need quick training on specific topics in education. Tools for Diverse Learners help provide educators with a framework for using tools across Google's platform and throughout Chromebooks to provide diverse learners with tools to build their learning in classrooms. Today's Resource Share is a bit different. We all know about chatbots and Artificial Intelligence; most times they are used for advertising (sometimes for nefarious purposes). However, Grow with Google's Interview Warmup utilizes both chatbots and AI to help users get to practice being interviewed for a job. The program asks simple interview questions and then the user can use either their microphone or keyboard to answer the questions and get feedback on their answers to improve their interviewee skills. September 8th, 2022 - Scrible Webinar Week One

Today's Resource Share is UEN/USBE's Fall Webinar Series on Scrible. The series is hosted by GEGUtah Co-Leader Matthew Winters and USBE's Media Specialist Davina Sauthoff. Scrible is an annotation/research tool paid for by USBE through the end of this school year. It helps students collect research from around the web, annotate sources, and then write and revise research projects. It is a great tool for all levels of students and in the webinar series, Davina and Matt explore the tool in detail and how it could be used in classrooms. Today's Resource Share is a fun extension activity that you can start using today to help connect students to outer space! Through a partnership with NASA, Google's Arts and Culture are offering a series of digital puzzles for students at varying levels. Each puzzle takes a unique photo from NASA and creates a digital puzzle for students. Its a great way to introduce students to space, but also a great extension activity for any level of student.
