May 12th, 2022 - Cloze Reading Activities with Google Docs Dropdown from Eric Curts

Today's Resource Share is a great activity for all ages, but particularly in our K-6 learning environments. For Eric Curts' Control Alt Achieve, he outlines how to use Google Docs' new create a dropdown feature to help students do close reading. It is a fairly simple idea with some great applications across content areas. Basically, copy a paragraph of text, remove the important words, and make a color-coded dropdown. It is a quickly assessed formative assessment that lets the teacher use any text they desire. Check out the post and the video tutorial below:

May 11th, 2022 - New Image Feature in Google Classroom

Today's Resource Share is a quick, but very nice update to Google Classroom. If you are a Google Classroom user, you may have noticed that when you add an image to an Announcement in the Stream that image is put below in the attachments. I found that sometimes students did not see these images and that could be a problem for instruction. The new update, available today allows for one image to be embedded in the post as a highlight for your students. You can see how to do this on a gif on our Daily Resources page:
