Today's Resource Share is a recent Google Experiment with Arts & Culture. In Return of the Cat Mummy students play as a cat mummy who searches ancient Egypt for relics to help his Pharoah go to the afterlife. The game is a mix of exploration, trivia, and education about ancient Egypt and its culture. It is a fun little game for all levels of learners. Check it out at the link below:

August 29th, 2023 - Applied Digital Skills Poster

Today's Resource Share comes from Google's Applied Digital Skills program. For back-to-school, Applied Digital Skills created a fantastic poster answering what digital skills students may use in certain professions (You can see it attached to this post or over at GEGUtah's site). They also have a launch page for all their back-to-school materials and a how-to guide for educators who are just starting with Applied Digital Skills.

August 25th, 2023 - Undo Send an eMail in Gmail

With the start of the year, it is easy to forget items we might need to send in our emails to parents, students, and our colleagues. In Gmail, you can easily undo sending an email using the instructions in the video below. You can also extend the option to undo sending an email up to 30 seconds after clicking send. August 24th, 2023 - Add Annotations in Google Slides

Today's Resource Share is an update to Google Slides that will be in accounts in the coming weeks. Google Workspaces announced a few weeks ago that you will be able to annotate slides live while presenting. Using their new pen tool, users will be able to draw, underline, and write on slides as they are presented to an audience.

This is a new feature to all Google accounts (education and personal) that will roll out starting on August 31st. You can learn more about this feature here:

Calling all EdTech Coaches, Instructional Coaches, and School Tech Specialists in Utah!

UEN is hosting its second cohort of Utah Tech Leaders Network (UTTLN)! This year-long program is designed to help you grow your skills and knowledge in EdTech leadership. You'll learn about personalized and competency-based learning (PCBL), best practices in coaching and supporting educators, and how to build a community of digital leaders in your school or district.


We'll have in-person and virtual meetings and you'll have access to online resources and support. Whether you're a seasoned coach, an experienced edtech, or you're just getting started, this program might be a great fit for you!

August 22nd, 2023 - Viola The Bird

Today's Resource Share comes from Google Experiments. Viola The Bird is an AI-powered music tool for learning about classical music and how string instruments are played. In this activity, learners play different songs using their cursors along with a giant bird named Viola! The activity is a rhythm game that teaches students about the instrument and how it is correctly played. They can record their performance and also play in a Freestyle mode where they can play the instrument how ever they would like. Check it out at the link below:

Google's Applied Digital Skills program released a collection of lessons for back to school 2023! Ranging from get to know you activities to lessons on how to effectively manage time, there are some great lessons to get your students using Google tools in the first few weeks of school.
