WHAT WE DID THIS WEEK:
Field Trip: To end our unit on location, students visited Qurum Park and engaged in unit-related activities including: a 2D shape scavenger hunt, environmental art, and mind-mapping.
Guest Speaker: Anne Malin, a UK cartographer, visited our students to share her knowledge about mapping in Oman.
Floor Plans as Maps: Students learned how to read and navigate a floor plan before creating their own plan for a building of their dreams.
WHAT WE DID THIS WEEK:
Introduction to Place Value: Students explored a variety of manipulatives to help them express numbers as groups of tens and ones.
Mathletics: Students practiced logging into Mathletics to complete whole number and place value activities.
WHAT WE DID THIS WEEK:
Independent and partner reading time: Strategies for reading with a partner (choral = reading in unison, seesaw = taking turns, echo = repeating what your partner reads).
Weekly letter sounds, focus words, exception words (reading) and exception words (spelling).
Spelling test practice: Students used a variety of classroom materials to learn this week's spelling words by heart.

اللغة العربية:
ـ بدأ الطلاب في كتابة قصصهم الخاصة بعد أن تعرفوا على خصائص النص القصصي وعناصره.
ـ تناول الطلاب خلال رحلتهم البحثية شكل النص الشعري (صباح الخير) كما قاموا بعقد مُقارنة بينه وبين النص القصصي (ليس هذا ضعفًا)
ـ تم مُراجعة أقسام الكلام من خلال أنشطة تصنيف الجُمل إلى اسمية وفعلية، ثم تحويل الجُمل الاسمية إلى فعلية والعكس.
ـ استمر الطلاب في رحلتهم البحثية عن "المواقع"، حيث ذهب الطلاب إلى رحلة تعليمية لحديقة القرم ومن خلالها قاموا برسم خريطة عنها.

I would like to share our Arabic outcomes for this week in Unit 2:
The students excelled in the morning assembly, I am very proud of them.
We worked this week on a portfolio.
This week we started in our summative to draw our map home and name it the rooms then ask and answer about direction.
We make a revision about what we learned about "home country on Maps'' and we talk about traditionally the food and color of our flag and the difference between a world map and country map and a home map
We still Learned how to write sentences faster, slower .
We still compared transportation ( faster, slower).
We still practice how to write directions for somebody.

This week Grade 2 have been encouraged to use their cooperation skills and learning map orientation skills. Students had to follow a map of cones and add the numbers that were underneath the cones.
