Meet the Teachers

My name is Diana Tabara and I will be one of the two teachers for PYP2 this school year. So for those that do not know much about me, please see below some highlights about myself.

I am from Romania and have been teaching in the Gulf for the last eleven years. I am a qualified primary teacher and I have got a degree in Psychology. For the past eighteen years, I have taught four different types of curriculum- The national Romanian curriculum, England National Curriculum, Cambridge, and IB. I have successfully initiated, implemented, and monitored the educational programs /policies for the individual/collective case regarding the socialization, education, and integration of school children in society.

Throughout the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to teach diverse groups of students, including those with learning disabilities and special education needs. As a result, I am proficient at designing creative and stimulating lesson plans, accommodating multiple intelligences, emotional intelligence, and group work, in order to keep students interested and focused.

I enjoy teaching primary classes because I have a strong passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well-rounded, responsible, and successful individuals. I am a creative thinker, team player, good organizer, quick problem solver with a dynamic and positive personality. I am fluent in English and French.

This will be my fifth year at OurPlanet, and I am already looking forward to continuing to add memories to my personal and professional career. It will be exciting to get to know your children at the beginning of this school year 2022/23.

My goal is to engage my students in their learning process and try to cater to their needs as well as their preferences.

Hello Families!

My name is Rosalind George and I will be teaching PYP2 at OurPlanet this year. I am very excited to be your child's homeroom teacher and I will do my very best to make sure that they feel happy and supported during their learning journey.

I was born in Palestine and grew up in the USA and Jerusalem. I have a BA in Social & Cultural Analysis from New York University, a MA in Art + Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a PGCEi from Nottingham University.

My passion for education began as an undergraduate when I was working as a kindergarten tutor in New York City. My positive experiences there inspired me to join the United States Peace Corps as an education volunteer in Sierra Leone. After spending two years in Sierra Leone, I worked for one year as an art teacher in New York City, three years as a kindergarten teacher in Mauritania, and three years as a primary teacher in Bahrain.

This will be my second year teaching in Oman and my first year at OurPlanet. My hobbies include, drawing, painting, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with my 8 year-old dog, Nina.

Hi everyone, my name is Ms Ashlea and I am thrilled to be starting a different role in OurPlanet and teaching Personal Social Physical Education (PSPE).

Briefly about myself, I’m from Liverpool, England and before you ask if Liverpool FC is my team it’s not it’s EVERTON! I have teaching experience in the UK, Oman and Kuwait. I have a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a Postgraduate in Education. During my time in Oman, I have been part of a Gaelic football community and played in the women's futsal 5-a side league. It’s been fantastic to see the quality and development of the women's game in Oman in recent years. Nowadays my time is spent keeping my two-year-old daughter occupied. I’m looking forward to the winter months and getting outdoors, hiking and camping with my family.

My passion is providing quality learning experiences that can guide young people to instill lifelong fitness and health.

Ms Ashlea

My name is Mira Mansour, I am from Jordan and I hold a BA Degree in Primary Education. I have 13+ years of experience in teaching Arabic between Jordan, UAE and Oman. I moved to Oman in 2018 and joined OurPlanet as an Arabic B teacher.

I like sports very much and I used to play fencing. I won the 3rd place in Asia championship in 1998 and I currently support the coach for the Omani fencing national team.

I will do my best to make Arabic learning as enjoyable as possible for non-native students, even though we know that this year won’t be an easy one however, we will work together closely to make another successful one.

حاصلة على ليسانس دراسات عربية وعلوم إسلامية جامعة القاهرة، حاصلة على العديد من ورش العمل من قِبل البكالوريا الدولية (pyp) و ورش عمل لكيفية التعامل مع الأطفال بإيجابية من قِبل التربية الإيجابية الأمريكية، وورش عمل حول تعلم الأطفال من خلال اللعب.

دوري في المدرسة هو تدريس اللغة العربية كلغة أولى للصفوف الدراسية الأول والثاني الأساسي.

أهوى القراءة وسماع الموسيقى وممارسة الرياضة.

ومع بداية العام الدراسي .. ليكن شعارنا .. نلعب ونتعلم

My name is Ms Fiona and I am looking forward to my 4th year teaching Music at OurPlanet International School.

Having graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Higher Diploma in Education, I founded a Music Department in Castlecomer Community School in Ireland catering for students aged 12-18. While teaching in Castlecomer I was appointed Music Examiner for the Irish State Exams Commission at both Junior and Senior level and was invited to contribute to the Magenta Principles, an educational journal exploring inquiry-based learning.

As I observed my students consistently exceed the national average of A Grades in their State Exams and my choirs become 1st Prize winners at national level I was struck by the positive impact music makes in so many areas of a student’s life. Knowing the earlier a child begins their music education the greater the benefits, I embarked upon a Diploma in Arts in Primary Education and graduated with First-Class Honours.

And so, my musical journey has brought me to Muscat where I look forward to introducing your child to the joy of music.

My name is Haiba Al-Sharji and I’m thrilled to be your child's librarian this year.

I’m Omani, and I speak 3 languages. I’ve been at Our Planet since the very beginning, and this would be my second year as the school librarian.

I love traveling, crossfit and like any educator coffee!

I plan to help your child become an enthusiastic reader and a skillful researcher.

Please encourage your child to enjoy and take care of our library materials and books and return them for more.

Marhaba , I am Miss Thikrayat , I will be working with PYP2 and Arabic B Class , this is my seventh year working as a Teaching Assistant at OurPlanet. In my spare time I love reading.
