Introductory and Instructional Video Challenge

Use a video camera to teach us how to do something. Show us how to play guitar, how to knit, how to write cursive, turn on a computer, clean a cell phone, how to tie shoes.

Please make your video funny, tongue-in-cheek. Here is a link to a short video to inspire you. It shows a dad instructing his kids to change a role of toilet paper.

Rules

Working in groups of 2 or 3, plan a short instructional video.

1. Write your 2 column script, storyboard and shot list. Submit everything (script, shot list and storyboard) for approval before you begin to shoot your raw footage.

2. Shoot your video with your cell phone.

3. Use a tripod and a microphone.

4. Shoot your video as a group and load onto your computers. Ensure you share the unedited footage to your group members.

As an individual:

• Complete the editing on your own. Editing must be on your own. Use any video app you wish.

Time limit for video is 30 seconds. You can extend the time to 35 seconds MAXIMUM, if you really need more time!

Allow a day for script writing, Story boards and shot list. Allow 2 days for shooting and 3 days for editing. These times are estimates only. Please do not take too long as the year is running out.

Any questions, just ask.
