Canvas

Canvas is our new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). You will use the Canvas to participate in courses, access resources, and connect with teachers and peers, during your time at City. Your Canvas account is personalised to your learning at the College, allowing you easy access to your courses, your learning tasks and materials, and your feedback and grades.

Canvas Student App

How to Download

Canvas Student allows you to access all of your courses materials, submit assignments, take quizzes and more via your mobile device. To install the app either search for "Canvas Student" in Google Play or the iOS App Store; or use the buttons below.

Logging In

Once you have installed the app, follow this process to log in:

Open the app and tap Find my school.
Either type in "City of Glasgow College" or enter the URL "cogc.instructure.com".
Wait for the login screen to load, this can sometimes take up to a minute.
Enter your username, this will be the same as your student email e.g. 12345678@cityofglacol.ac.uk.
Enter your password, this will be the same one you use for your student email.
You may be prompted to use your two-factor authentication to complete the login process.

Accessing Canvas via Desktop

Canvas can accessed via: https://cogc.instructure.com/ or via Citylife.

You will need to log into your college Microsoft account to gain access to the site. Use your college email address and password to log in. If you have set up two-step verification, you will be prompted to use it.

Passport to Canvas

All enrolled students now have access to Passport to Canvas which is part of your induction to City. When you log into Canvas this will be on your dashboard and it's a short training course to guide you through the new system.
