My Skills Project

The My Skills project has been investigating how to move the certification of vocational education forwards from its current paper-based model to a system that also uses official digital certificates in a reliable, trusted and verifiable manner, operating at a national scale over the long-term. The College has been leading this project together with an industry partner APPII, that specialises in using blockchain technologies to support certification, and the Scottish Qualification Authority, who are exploring adding the use of digital certificate to their existing service. A part of this project was to explore introducing Google G Suite for education into the college as a student portfolio system, this has a promising future potential. Funded by the Ufi Charitable trust.
