MyAdventure Group is committed to environmental sustainability in all our outdoor and adventure activities. Our overall approach is based on 4 key sustainability practices; Shielding, Hardening, Regeneration and Exclusion.
Our field practices ensure a high level of environmental protection is maintained and environmental sustainability is an integral part of all operations.
This policy contains SOPs and Guidelines to ensure staff and clients are aware of the environmental sustainability requirements and that all MAG programs Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace.
The MyAdventure Group plans to Tread lightly and Leave no trace by applying the following key sustainability practices to all business activities, outdoor and adventure activities. These key sustainability practices are divided into 4 categories Shielding, Hardening, Regeneration and Exclusion.
The use of temporary materials, equipment or structures to protect natural features and elements from impacts. Shielding is only used during the activity with little or no signs of impact upon completion of the activity
Electrical power is supplied via a heavy duty, purpose built cable connected to the mains supply; petrol power generators are not used at Pindari (except in emergency situations)
Edge protection on all cliff edges where ropes and other equipment is used
Suitable padding and rigging techniques are used to prevent ringbarking living trees that are used for abseiling, climbing or Canyoning anchors
Where fixed eye bolts are used for roping anchors a MAG karabiner is used to reduce wear and tear on the fixed eye bolt
The use of temporary or permanent materials, equipment or structures to reduce or eliminate impacts. Hardening recognises areas of exiting or likely impact and provides protection to prevent the spread or worsening of the existing impacts.
The fire pit at the campsite is maintained
All human waste and grey water is contained in a portable toilet and removed from the site
Vehicular access to the campsite is on existing tracks
The removal, repair and remediation of areas of existing impacts. Natural features and elements may be introduced to encourage the re-establishment of the natural processes
Annual regeneration and rotation of campsites is conducted
The use of temporary materials, equipment or structures to prevent access and protect natural features and elements from all impacts
Flagging and temporary fencing is installed to protect the private area around the Pindari campsite
